The Joy of Sake returns to Webster Hall tomorrow night to showcase over 250 premium sakes and food from some of NYC's top Japanese restaurants. If you're eager to learn about sake you won't want to miss it. Sample the full spectrum of junmai, ginjo and daiginjo sake, including many award-winning and near impossible to find selections. A wide range of sake-friendly dishes will be available from standouts like 15 East, Bond St, Bozu, EN Japanese Brasserie, Geisha, Hibino, Kai, Matsugen, Oms/b, Riingo, Sakagura, SushiSamba, Woo Lae Oak and Zenkichi. This Sunday at Hiro Ballroom in Chelsea chefs from Eighty-One, Del Posto, Fatty Crab, Resto and Mosefund Farms will face off in a competition to vie for the title of "Prince of Porc." Each chef will be presented with a 70+ pound heritage breed pig to braise, grille, press, pickle, rub, smoke, sear, sauce, spice, inject, marinate or cure as they see fit. Attendees and a panel of judges, including yours truly, will cast votes in three categories: classic preparation, creative preparation and best overall flavor.
