Critic Reviews

The New York Times star star Critic's Pick 01/11/06

I sing the praises of Al di La, sung so many times before, because it deserves the music...Al di La is worth a trip. - Frank Bruni

New York Magazine star Critic's Pick

Klinger and her husband, Emiliano Coppa, bring a touch of the Veneto to their perpetually mobbed restaurant in Park Slope. - Adam Platt

Time Out New York Critic's Pick

Aspiring restaurateurs in Park Slope should study this convivial Fifth Avenue pioneer. Nine-year-old al di la remains unsurpassed in the neighborhood.

I read the press and had to go. What a disappointment. There were four of us dining and not one outstanding dish. The much hyped risotto was bland. The food wasn't bad, it just wasn't near the expectation I had.

The pasta here is second to none, but the entrees are a little boring and not that well excecuted. The service is downright rude and who's that strange guy walking around the dining room amidst the chaos doing absolutely nothing but picking up the money? Strange vibe, I don't really understand the unflagging popularity.

Food is poorly executed. It seems as the food was just sloped a plate. I had rissoto with squid ink, the flavors where not balanced and to rich(to much butter). I dont understand what all the craze is about.. I wouldnt go back.

Excellent food, although one should be prepared to wait for a table most nights.
