I actually haven't been back to Blue Ribbon in about four years because the no reservations thing always deters me from planning on going there - especially because it's not the kind of place I'd go to on a whim because it's a more expensive restaurant but I should just force myself to do it because the food was very good - I loved the lobster in miso butter!

o-toro (blue fin belly) is about the most amazing piece of sushi i've had. hamachi kama (yellowtail collar) is incredibly delicate. hokkaido (uni from northern japan) is deeper in color, more flavorful and creamier than domestic uni. even simple pieces like hirame (fluke) and hamachi stand above other manhattan sushi restaurants. solid service.
