Just four months old, the new restaurant Elizabeth has already changed plenty, and it still doesn't seem entirely sure of what it wants to be. - Frank Bruni

Quite empty for brunch in that area (made me wonder) - didn't get a chance to see the outdoor space, sadly. The food was pretty standard, but the restaurant itself is not as upscale/classy as it would appear in design. Service was horrendous - the guy wouldn't give us straws with our drinks because they were " running out"... Not sure how long this place will last...

I meet some business associates (with very varied tastes) at Elizabeth Restaurant in NoLita just a half block south of Houston street on Elizabeth a few weeks ago. We wanted a not so noisy place for a drink to discuss some business ideas. We meet at the bar but discovered a great quite room called the Card Room we proceeded to have some well priced red wine that came from regional limited-production winers at great price points that pleased this very discerning group of business people. Well we got hunger and moved to the dinning room for one of the best diners. Service was very attentive and for $50.00 per head for a two-course meal with (another bottle) wine, tax and tip it was outstanding. We’re meeting here again next week, everyone was very impressed with their Monday nit special menu for $25 per, we’ll try that next time but I think we’ll go over budget, those wines were just too delicious to pass up.
