Fantastique!
We visited this resto for our first time this past Saturday. It will NOT be our last! In our opinion, whatever issues they had in the past have certainly been rectified. Our dining experience was (without question) on the level of Le Cirque, perhaps even higher quality. One is immediately calmed by the beautiful decor of the restaurant which echos art deco design. The service, from its very beginning, (as we were late for a reservation), was impeccable. All the wait staff were so personable. We feel the the $42 Prix Fixe menu offers a "full value" given the high quality and amount of food you receive. My dinner companion started with the Steamed Jumbo Asparagus with Deviled Quail Eggs & Dijon Vinaigrette. I had the Tuna Tartare with Red & Yellow Watermelon Salad. Honestly, the small portion size of my appetizer was a bit daunting but it was filling. The presentation of both dishes was beautiful and they were quite tasty. For my entree I had Grilled Skirt Steak ,Creamed Spinach, Roasted Cipollini Onions, French Fries w/classic sauces. Very delicious! My companion had Sautéed Fillet of Halibut Japanese Eggplant, Daikon Slaw & Snow Pea Wasabi Sauce. This dish was OUTSTANDING! The meal was followed by a medley of sorbets, coconut, melon, & Passion fruit, each one better than the previousthink crescendo! For dessert I had the lemon cheesecake with macadamia nut crust which was absolutely lovely (I normally do not eat desserts) and my companion had meyer lemon mousse with creme fraiche & candied lemon peel. Ending our meals with a latte and and an illy coffee, we were very content and pleased. We felt that the $128 (including tip) l'addition we received was money well spent. We highly recommend this restaurant for we will return very soon!
