Critic Reviews

I'm amazed that food so satisfying can emerge in the chaotic din of prime dining hours. - Eric Asimov

the food...is predictably competent in a homey, almost threadbare kind of way. - - Adam Platt

Time Out New York Critic's Pick

This bohemian bistro bears the unmistakable mark of owner Keith McNally (Pastis, Balthazar). The faux-thentic decor (old mirrors, antique subway tiles) and...

Amazing. I love it here and go all the time. the atmosphere is great, but does get quite loud so you have to be in the mood for it. The drinks are great as well, not so keen on the bloody mary but the sparkling mango is made very well. The steak isn't as good as balthazar but still is worth getting, my favorite is the french onion soup. the staff are always very friendly even when it is packed, and it does get extremely packed in the evenings.

the vibe is great when the windows are open and the dining room is bustling. the food is reliable though lacks excitement. it's a safe spot to take out-of-towners who stick to familiar dishes. also good for a late bite.

Great place, loud, bustling, good food, enjoyed everything except the small size of the table. Server competant and swift, could smile more.

Keep your group >4 to secure a table with ease, otherwise plan to wait painfully long. The food is decent, but as most people are there for the scene, it suits everyone's fancy. Also, Schiller's must be listed in EU travel books as you'll always fnid an international scene.

Extremely packed with waiting patrons standing in the aisles which was annoying to many of the diners. Bar is virtually in accessible. Food was classic bistro fair and never seems to wow but never really disappoints. Rotisserie chicken had an excellent flavor and a delicious crispy skin. Full Review to follow..

Fish and chips were ok. Love the atomosphere and the drinks. It gets quite crowded but works in the space. Love the different carafes of wine you can order...the cheap is still good! Have only been once and meaning to go back.
