tavern on the green is one of a kind. the space is gaudy and dated but somehow works to create a charming destination. it's filled with stuffy, aging well-to-doers who probably order the prime rib every time. the staff is well oiled. the food here is about as traditional and boring as it gets, but when your parents fly up to visit you for the first time, take them here after a stroll through central park. they will love it.

Currently one of the worst restaurants in Manhattan. fortuately it will soon close, get a new owner and hoefully once again be great.
