The New York Times star Critic's Pick 06/15/05

Of the dishes that do succeed, several are excellent, while the rest reflect a laudable cleverness or infectious playfulness. - Frank Bruni

Once word gets out how good chef Chris Santos's small sharing plates can be, the darling brats may be shouldered aside by determined foodies. - Gael Greene

A gorgeous chandelier, lizard-skin banquettes and plush retro booths underline the 1940s inspiration behind this AvroKO-designed tri-level restaurant. The decor,...

The experience at The Stanton Social was exceptional. Every detail was clearly thought through from the lighting, music, etc. Desserts are fantastic.

Stanton Social is where I had my husband's birthday party last Friday. When I had called to reserve an area in their upstairs lounge, I was told that the lounge was on a first come-first served basis. We got there at 7 and put our names down and it wasnt until 9:15 that the waitress told us we could be seated. We dont mind waiting, but the reason for the wait we were told was, they were busy accommodating people who overflowed from downstairs and the other half of the lounge was reserved. We not only got the feeling that there was some racial profiling going on here but were quite sure of it when we realised that they were busy seating only white people. I told the waitresses repeatedly that I want to get 3 bottles of champagne and starters for the group of 20 of us, but it didnt seem to make a difference. Although this is a good place, I would not recommend it unless you decide to do a pre-fix with them because they do not care about people otherwise. Sorry to say, but it was quite disappointing.

Their tapas-style food is really good! But really pricey.

I loved dining here. The General Manager had my friends and I seated in the center of the restaurant. The food was phenomenol. My friends were blown away by the service, and the treatment we received. Mondays are great - lots of fun! The bar upstairs is really cool as well.
