[Tocqueville] remains a haven of considerable pleasures, thanks to the high standards and palpably committed efforts of its chef, Marco Moreira, who owns the restaurant with his wife, Jo-Ann Makovitzky. - Frank Bruni
Plush new digs up the street from their original location give Marco Moreira and Jo-Ann Makovitzky 35 extra seats, a glass-walled mezzanine for private parties, and a lounge where guests can sip house cocktails and nibble dainty hors d'oeuvre. - Rob Patronite and Robin Raisfeld
I bought you lockers for your furs, the old song didnt exactly go, but thats what Marco Moreira and Jo-Ann Makovitzky have done here, in the new, bigger incarnation of their restaurant, which moved down the street from its old quarters in February. - Nancy Franklin
I chooose this restaurant based on a listing in a Frommers guide to New York. The restaurant is expensive, so I would advise you to stick to the Prix Fixe theatre menu ($44 per person without wine or $57.00 for a three course meal with wine pairings. You will not be handed this fixe prix menu and you may have to request it. This was the best meal I have ever eaten in my life, There was a group of four of us and everyone raved about the food, the service, the ambience, This restaurant is amazing, I am looking forward to a return visit.
