[Wylie Dufresne] pushes hard against the envelope of possibility and the bounds of conformity to produce food that's not only playful but also joyful and even exhilarating, at least when the mad science pays off. - Frank Bruni

The menu is an aggressive display of food as high art. - Adam Platt

Obviously, Wylie Dufresne's parents never scolded him for playing with his food. His far-fetched innovations can be found in riffs on the humble (air-puffed...

wd-50 is one of those special places that I love to go to. Wylie and his team are incredibly creative, prepare tasty food and never have I had a disappointing experience. I like bringing people here because there is such a wow factor to what he's doing. Definitely an important restaurant to experience at least once. Also, we recently discovered that it's a fun spot for a cocktail and dessert.

Amazing! Best meal ever, hands down. Fried mayo, pretzel consomme. Insane!

Get the regular menu--tasting is not worth it. But the service is surprisingly down to earth.

Incredibly inventive and creative. A unique experience in itself that will truly awaken your taste buds in ways you never imagined. Slightly industrial ambiance and little romantic or sexy elements to the space but a must for the food alone!

WD50 is one of my favorite restaurants in New York. The cuisine is always extremely creative but it never comes at the cost of taste. I highly recommend doing the tasting menu as it will give you the best sense of their cuisine.
